A FRESH NEW LOOK FOR THE SUMMER

Over the course of the last few months we have been busy designing and producing our new brochure and we hope you like the fresh new look.  We have also revamped our product range, which now includes Evolution-2 and I-6D.

These new products mean we have gracefully retired the old Spectrum and Vista ranges which have served us well over the years.  Replacement parts and panels will continue to be available for our customers should they need them for years to come.

Evolution-1 also served us well with thousands of cases now in use around the world. E-1 is still fully available for our existing customers and we will support this older system well into the future.

Please let us know if you’d like a copy of our new brochure either by getting in direct contact, or by completing the request form on this site.  We look forward to meeting customers and friends both old and new over the coming months.

Enjoy the summer.

INTRODUCING EVOLUTION-2 INCA-6 DEMOUNTABLE

We are delighted to announce the arrival of the TESS Evolution 2 case. Demountable and modular as before, but featuring sleek, surface-bonded glass panel technology and improved conservation properties; as well as options for LED lighting, concealed locks, a slimmer top profile, concealed power conduit, improved shelving system, and much, much more.

As with our existing Evolution, the case allows the end-user to assemble, dismantle and move the cases themselves without expert assistance.

In addition to this, we have also introduced Evolution 2’s chic big sister, the Inca 6 Demountable. These cases are made to measure (rather than modular) to suit your specific requirements, and therefore can be produced to any size and even in multi-bay format. And crucially for wider cases, the Inca 6 Demountable has options for pull and slide doors, as opposed to a hinged-only opening. The case features a larger light hood for more lighting and light source options; and there is no limit on colour, finish, glass type etc.

Please get in touch with clive@tessdemountable.co.uk for more information on either of these cases.

CARBON OFFSET MILESTONE!

Its been a while since we posted a news update weve been so busy over the last 12 months weve barely had the time, but by the end of June 2013 we reached the incredible milestone in our unique carbon offset programme of 1000 tons since we introduced the scheme in 2010!  This has been achieved by working in conjunction with our carbon offset partners, Carbon Footprint, and by working harder than ever in developing our sustainable solutions to a world-leading standard not to mention our unique tree-planting programme which is constantly adding to the lungs of the world.

Needless to say we are very proud at having reached this tremendous milestone and we hope it demonstrates our absolute commitment to sustainability and the preservation of the planet for future generations.

THE BRITISH MUSIC EXPERIENCE

The British Music Experience (BME) museum housed within the O2 Bubble (formerly the Millennium Dome) houses an amazing collection of exhibits covering all aspects of British music dating from 1944.  Many items are on display and the more precious examples are regularly displayed in TESS Demountable Mono-3d high security cases.  The BME recently placed another order for this high security showcase system.

THE WHIPPLE MUSEUM OF THE HISTORY OF SCIENCE, CAMBRIDGE

The Whipple Museum of the History of Science holds an extensive collection of scientific instruments, apparatus, models, pictures, prints, photographs, books and other material related to the history of science. It was founded in 1944, when Robert Whipple presented his collection of scientific instruments to the University of Cambridge. The Museum’s collection is designated by the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council (MLA) as being of “national and international importance”.   TESS are very pleased to have been selected to supply a number of cases to the Whipple in recent years, including most recently a series of our Evolution Modular cases  for displaying some of their most treasured possessions in their Upper Gallery

ABBEY HOUSE MUSEUM, KIRKSTALL

Abbey House Museum in Kirkstall is housed in the gatehouse of the ruined Kirkstall Abbey, a grade II listed building.

The ground floor of the museum is set out as an area of Victorian streets, illustrating a range of shops and services and including original shop fittings etc. Upstairs galleries feature the history of Kirkstall Abbey, Childhood, and Leeds Social History, as well as temporary exhibitions.  TESS have supplied Evolution Modular cases and PrismHD desk style cases to the museum in the past, but for the latest gallery upgrade we have been asked to supply our Mono-3d high security system – not just for the security aspects but also because the cases can be taken in dis-assembled through a tricky route, then re-assembled in place of some older timber framed cases without looking out of place in the traditional room setting.

TEG MARKETPLACE 2012: APRIL 27TH

We throughly enjoyed ourselves at the annual TEG Marketplace which this year was staged at the newly refurbished National Museum of Scotland, in the beautiful city of Edinburgh.  This was the closest we would get to our head office and manufacturing facility (in the nearby town of Livingston), so we put a little extra effort into our day this year by including one of our Evolution Modular cases complete with a colourful display from our friends at Blue Tokay who were also in attendance for the first time.  It was good to see friends old and new at the show and to continue our relationship with TEG.  We also distributed our latest copy of our Evolution magazine at the show which was fresh from the printers the magazine carries stories of temporary and touring exhibitions from around the world and can be requested via this website, or downloaded as a PDF if you prefer.  See you at the next event!

MINE TO MEDALS STORY OF THE 2012 OLYMPIC MEDALS

With 2012 being the year of the London Olympics, don’t miss out on the chance to see the Olympic Medals exhibition at the British Museum.  The exhibition tells the story of the Olympic and Paralympic medals from the mine to the podium.  The very first pressings of the medals are on display in TESS Evolution cases on the first floor.

TYNE WEAR MUSEUMS, SHIPLEY ART GALLERY

TESS have been supplying Mono-3d cases to T&WM Services for many years now.  The cases are exceptionally robust and are able to shrug off the constant assembly/dismantling and moving around the North of England to the many venues served by the T&WMS.  Shipley Art Gallery have just added another suite of Mono-3d cases to the collection which will serve them for many more years to come.
