Mine to Medals – Story of the 2012 Olympic Medals

With 2012 being the year of the London Olympics, don’t miss out on the chance to see the Olympic Medals exhibition at the British Museum.  The exhibition tells the story of the Olympic and Paralympic medals from the mine to the podium.  The very first pressings of the medals are on display in TESS Evolution cases on the first floor.

Tyne & Wear Museums, Shipley Art Gallery

TESS have been supplying Mono-3d cases to T&WM Services for many years now.  The cases are exceptionally robust and are able to shrug off the constant assembly/dismantling and moving around the North of England to the many venues served by the T&WMS.  Shipley Art Gallery have just added another suite of Mono-3d cases to the collection which will serve them for many more years to come.

The Grace Darling Museum, Northumberland

Grace Darling was the heroine of Victorian Britain.  She was awarded the RNLI Silver Medal for Gallantry after risking her life in an open boat to help rescue the survivors of the wrecked SS Forfarshire in 1838.  The Grace Darling Museum was established in 1938 to commemorate her life.  TESS is extremely proud to be the supplier of Evolution showcases to the museum and to be associated with one of life’s great stories.

NATIONAL MUSEUM OF WALES

Bristol City Council – M Shed

Bristol City Council are responsible for the funding and running of the new M Shed museum in the heart of Bristol.  When looking for new cases to house temporary exhibitions the council are a fierce bunch to satisfy in terms of quality and value for money.  TESS Evolution cases have been recently chosen for those very reasons and we are proud to be associated with such a modern and forward thinking museum.

The Goldsmiths Company, London

The Goldsmiths Company, a national institution, has been staging temporary exhibitions for many years now.  TESS is a proud supplier of our Spectrum system to the Goldsmiths’ and has been supplying their temporary exhibition showcasing needs for almost 10 years now.  A new upcoming exhibition required an additional suite of Spectrum cases, which we were delighted to supply.

THE MUSEUM OF EDINBURGH

The Museum of Edinburgh is a jewel of a museum situated on Canongate in the heart of the historical city.  Housing an amazing array of artefacts the museum is well worth a visit when you are exploring Edinburgh.  TESS have been supplying cases to the museum for a number of years and have recently supplied more of our Spectrum system cases for their constantly evolving temporary exhibition programme.

EDINBURGH CENTRAL LIBRARY

When Edinburgh Central Library needed a suite of new temporary exhibition showcases, they knew where to come.  They already had a suite of Evolution cases, which they were very pleased with, so the choice was a simple one.  Despite a competitive tendering situation, TESS Evolution cases were again chosen as the best value for money and the most suitable product for their stringent requirements.

Lille University, France

When Lille University in France were offered the chance of hosting a touring exhibition arranged by the  British Museum, they grabbed it with both hands.  TESS already supply the Evolution modular system to the British Museum and the BM recommended the Evolution system to the University to house the loan collection.  You can find out all about the ground breaking exhibition entitled ‘Boat 1550BC’ by clicking on the link.

THE OXFORDSHIRE MUSEUM, WOODSTOCK

The Oxfordshire Museum in Woodstock, have been using their existing stock of TESS Mono-3d cases for around 10 years now – so pleased are they with the cases that they have recently ordered another batch along with some of our PrismHD cases to add to their temporary exhibition gallery displays.
